FLorida Law requires all board members to be certified.

Certification requirements. (Board Member Certificates are on file in the Community Room Office)

  • New board members must complete a board certification course within 90 days of being elected or appointed 

  • The course must be approved by the association's department 

  • The course must include training on financial literacy, recordkeeping, and meeting requirements 

  • Board members must sign a written certification affirming that they have read and will uphold the association's governing documents 

  • The certificate of completion is valid for up to four years 

  • Board members must complete additional continuing education hours annually, depending on the size of the community
