FLorida Law requires all board members to be certified.
Certification requirements. (Board Member Certificates are on file in the Community Room Office)
New board members must complete a board certification course within 90 days of being elected or appointed
The course must be approved by the association's department
The course must include training on financial literacy, recordkeeping, and meeting requirements
Board members must sign a written certification affirming that they have read and will uphold the association's governing documents
The certificate of completion is valid for up to four years
Board members must complete additional continuing education hours annually, depending on the size of the community
